Shauna & Emma

Wall To Wall Sunshine

When you think of a destination wedding, you think of minimum three days of celebrations, stunning backdrops,a fun, communal holiday vibe and many, many laughs. People may think that you must fly to tropical climates for a perfect destination wedding, but in the case of Shauna and Emma,a short flight from Newcastle to Bristol was sufficient for the day of their dreams.

Destination micro weddings really do offer the best of both worlds: the intimacy of having just a select few family and friends with you,the simplicity of having a perfectly planned wedding with no cut corners, and the fun, laughter and adventures that inevitably come when lifelong friends and family members gather for a celebration. What’s more,a magical micro-wedding is a relatively inexpensive option, allowing couples to celebrate their love for each other without breaking the bank.

For Shauna and Emma, the first weekend in September greeted them with wall-to-wall sunshine, which went a long way to promote the amazing party atmosphere that took hold the moment guests started arriving. The couple upgraded from the 2-night stay included in their wedding package to a full week in the stunning Kala’s Cottage, which allowed them to enjoy the experience as well as a mini-moon afterwards. The celebrations started on the eve of the wedding as the guests gathered to enjoy a glass of limoncello in anticipation of the events ahead. Of course,no destination wedding would be complete without a lei,and guests were garlanded in flowers before the night came to an end!

When the Big Day arrived, the couple were brought to the Kave simultaneously, where they exited their vehicles and saw each other for the first time, before joining hands and walking down the aisle together. They both looked absolutely stunning in ivory lace and cathedral length veils, complete with Converse trainers; why compromise on comfort when you can have so much style?

After the ceremony, they enjoyed Buck’s Fizz on the lawn, before heading back to The Barn, where the happy couple and guests enjoyed a delicious,3-course meals and ice-cold beer. As day slipped into night,we whisked the ladies away to our magical cliff-top field for sunset photos, before returning them to The Barn for drinks,& celebrations. Every moment of the weekend had an air of anticipation and celebration, and it was just wonderful watching this fantastic couple enjoying their union with the people that they love most in the world.

On their first day as Mrs & Mrs,the guests reluctantly left their on-site accommodation, leaving the happy couple to enjoy the remainder of their stay in a stunning location at Kala’s Cottage.

We loved Shauna and Emma’s wedding! It perfectly represented them: fun, genuine and in love. It was an absolute pleasure to help them to create the wedding of their dreams and we hope to welcome them back to North Devon for many years to come.
