A Wedding Day Full of Character, Fun – and Basset Hounds
On the morning of the wedding, Fiona got ready in our spacious family-and-dog-friendly cottage, The Sadlers, while Steven stayed in the beautiful Kala’s Cottage with their much-loved Bassets. Both cottages were filled with excitement as suppliers, family, and friends helped the couple bring their vision to life.

Fiona looked stunning in a floor-length lace gown from Wed2Be, and the couple chose a heartfelt “first look” before walking into their ceremony together—setting the tone for a day that was intimate, meaningful, and completely their own.

After the wedding, Steven shared:

“The whole day was perfect. Seeing everything come together and watching the amazing sunset—just the two of us making memories—was unforgettable. It was lovely to see our family having fun, whether playing garden games or dancing in the bar.”

And in true Fiona style, she added her own surprise moment by enthusiastically smashing the toasting glass—one of Steven’s favourite memories of the day!

The couple chose Plymouth-based First Light Photography, who have worked with Ocean Kave for many years and know the venue’s landscape, light, and hidden gems intimately. Their photographs captured every detail—from romantic portraits among our resident racehorses to the iconic Ocean Kave sunset that so many couples treasure.

The celebration continued in our rustic barn with a relaxed wedding breakfast, followed by an evening full of joy, dancing, and laughter with their closest family and friends.
