At 3pm on Monday 27 April, beneath an endless coastal sky, Eliza and Den began their next chapter together at Ocean Kave—our intimate elopement wedding venue on the beautiful North Devon coast.

Their wedding was wonderfully personal and perfectly suited to them. With their beloved dogs by their sides for photos in the grounds and William and Kathy from Ocean Kave acting as witnesses, the couple enjoyed a relaxed, romantic ceremony filled with love, laughter and unforgettable ocean views.

A Beautifully Intimate Elopement Ceremony

The Ocean Kave was styled with natural flowers and delicate sea lanterns, creating a warm and romantic setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. As a gentle sea breeze swept across the clifftop, Eliza and Den exchanged their vows and promised to stand beside one another through all of life’s adventures.

Eliza looked beautiful in an elegant dusky-pink two-piece suit, complemented by a dainty fascinator. Den was equally stylish in a forest-green suit, finished with a dusky-pink rose buttonhole that matched his bride’s bouquet perfectly. Together, they looked effortlessly elegant—and completely themselves.

A Dog-Friendly Elopement Wedding in North Devon

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds stepped outside for a private clifftop photoshoot before raising a glass of Prosecco and enjoying delicious cream-tea canapés.

The couple chose talented local photographer Hollie Nicole to capture their day. From romantic photographs within our private grounds and moments beside our resident racehorses to spectacular coastal images with their dogs, every picture reflected the happiness and relaxed spirit of their wedding.

A Romantic Candlelit Picnic Overlooking the Ocean

After spending a couple of happy hours enjoying their photoshoot and exploring the grounds, Eliza and Den returned to the Ocean Kave, where a lovely surprise was waiting for them.

Inside, a sumptuous candlelit picnic had been prepared overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was the perfect opportunity for the newlyweds to slow down, savour the moment and enjoy their first meal together as a married couple in complete privacy.

Reflecting on their intimate wedding day, Eliza and Den said:

“Thank you for everything. It was just right for us. We couldn’t have asked for more.”

As the sun slipped below the horizon and the stars began to appear above the coast, the couple retired to Kala’s Cottage at Westward Living Luxury Holiday Cottages.

Designed especially for two, this romantic coastal retreat features a private balcony and hot tub overlooking the ocean—an idyllic place to relax after their wedding and continue their celebrations beneath the North Devon sky.

The following day, Eliza and Den shared these heartfelt words:
