One of our most enchanting weddings was Annie and Jason’s Harry Potter inspired celebration, which showed just how magical and unique a small wedding at Ocean Kave can be.
 
From the moment we met Annie and Jason, we knew their wedding would be something special. They told us: “Ocean Kave was our first and only place we looked at for our wedding and we loved it. We weren't even properly engaged but we knew it was where we were meant to be and where we meant to say, 'I do'.”

There had to be a nod to magical wedding details inspired by Harry Potter.  As fans of the wizarding world, Annie and Jason delighted their guests with “Cheeky Vimto potion cocktails and Harry Potter cupcake canapés on the lawn overlooking the sea. These whimsical touches showed how easy it is to add unique flair to your small wedding in Devon.  Annie prepared in our luxury bridal suite with Hair by Cathy, one of our recommended local suppliers. Dressed in her Wed2Be gown, she looked stunning as she made her way to the Ocean Kave, where Jason was waiting.
 
In a moment straight out of a storybook, the wedding rings were delivered by Dusky the owl—a magical nod to Harry Potter’s Hedwig. Their ceremony was emotional, personal, and perfectly suited to the intimate setting of our coastal venue.
 
Annie shared afterwards: “When we saw each other when I was walking down that aisle, it felt like we were seeing each other for the first time and falling in love all over again.”  Following the ceremony, guests were entertained with a bird of prey display against the dramatic Atlantic backdrop—one of the many unique experiences we can host at Ocean Kave. The venue is made for celebrating with ocean views and wildlife.
 
Local photographer Hollie Nicole Photography captured the magic beautifully, from romantic moments in the grounds among our resident racehorses, to the unforgettable sunset beach photoshoot that Devon weddings are famous for.
 
Whilst celebrating the joy of a small and intimate wedding, the couple celebrated with a relaxed wedding breakfast in our rustic barn, before an evening of laughter, dancing and joy with their closest family and friends.
 
Reflecting on the day, Annie and Jason told us: “I'd recommend doing a small and intimate wedding every day. We got to spend time with every single person and had an amazing time doing so. When thinking back to our wedding day, there’s not a single thing we'd have done differently—and that includes the amount of people we had!”
