For Ryan and Alexia, their dream wedding was all about combining an intimate, meaningful ceremony with a fabulous celebration surrounded by their favourite people.

And what better place to begin their married life than Ocean Kave, our unique coastal wedding venue in Westward Ho!, North Devon, where spectacular Atlantic views, romantic ceremony spaces and 60 acres of private coastal grounds create a truly magical setting?

The couple chose a glorious summer wedding, making the most of our flexible Ceremony Only Wedding Package, which allowed them to exchange their vows in the enchanting Ocean Kave before continuing their celebrations at a reception venue of their choice.

The result? A beautifully personal wedding filled with love, laughter, wonderful food and some truly spectacular photographs!

The Wedding Celebrations Begin – A Luxury Coastal Stay

For Ryan and Alexia, their wedding experience began the day before they said "I do".

The happy couple checked into our stunning Royal Celerity Cottage at Westward Living, enjoying a little luxury and relaxation before their big day.

Meanwhile, their closest family members made themselves at home in The Gallops, one of our beautiful luxury self-catering holiday cottages, providing the perfect base for everyone to enjoy the celebrations together.

Located within the same private coastal estate as Ocean Kave, our Westward Living holiday cottages offer couples and their guests the wonderful convenience of staying just moments from the wedding venue.

There's something rather special about turning your wedding into a little coastal escape, with time to relax, spend precious moments with family and soak up the excitement before the celebrations begin.

That evening, the bridal party met with their wonderful celebrant, Nixie James-Scott of Unique Ceremonies, and the Ocean Kave wedding team to run through those all-important final details.

With everything organised and ready, all that remained was a good night's sleep before the big day. Although, with so much excitement in the air, we're not entirely sure how much sleeping actually happened!

A Beautifully Styled Wedding Ceremony at Ocean Kave

On the wedding day, Ocean Kave was looking absolutely beautiful.

The romantic ceremony space had been transformed with a gorgeous palette of soft pale greens, warm russet tones and vibrant fuchsia pink, creating an elegant yet wonderfully colourful setting for Ryan and Alexia's summer wedding.

The colours complemented the natural beauty of the coastal surroundings, bringing warmth, personality and a lovely sense of occasion to the Kave.

But even the beautiful styling couldn't compete with the arrival of the bride!

Alexia looked absolutely breathtaking.

Radiating elegance and happiness, she made her way down the aisle towards her handsome groom, Ryan, who was waiting to begin their next chapter together.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, it was one of those magical moments when the excitement of the day gives way to something truly heartfelt.

The smiles, the emotion, the anticipation — everything came together beautifully.

And with the romantic atmosphere of Ocean Kave surrounding them, the stage was set for a wedding ceremony they would remember forever.

A Personalised Wedding Ceremony Filled with Love, Laughter & Tradition

One of the loveliest things about a celebrant-led wedding is the freedom to create a ceremony that truly reflects the couple.

Ryan and Alexia chose the incredibly talented Nixie James-Scott of Unique Ceremonies to bring their vision to life, and what a wonderful ceremony she created!

Nixie has a fabulous gift for making wedding ceremonies feel warm, personal and completely unique. Ryan and Alexia's celebration was no exception.

Their ceremony was filled with laughter, touching words and beautiful moments of sentiment, celebrating not only their love for one another but also the journey that had brought them to this special day.

The couple incorporated two particularly meaningful traditions into their celebration.

A Romantic Handfasting Ceremony

During their vows, Ryan and Alexia included a beautiful handfasting ritual, symbolising the joining of their lives and their commitment to one another.

As their hands were gently bound together, it created a wonderfully intimate moment, representing the promises they were making and the future they would share.

Jumping the Broom – A Joyful New Beginning

To conclude their personalised ceremony, Ryan and Alexia embraced the wonderful tradition of jumping the broom.

Symbolising the beginning of a new chapter together, this joyful ritual brought a fabulous sense of celebration to the occasion.

It was the perfect ending to a ceremony that was heartfelt, meaningful and full of personality.

And, of course, there were plenty of smiles and cheers from their delighted family and friends!

Bellinis, Handmade Canapés & Celebrations in the Sunshine

Following their beautiful ceremony, it was time to celebrate!

Guests were welcomed with a delicious selection of handmade sweet and savoury canapés, accompanied by elegant crystal flutes filled with refreshing peach or strawberry Bellinis.

A little sunshine, a glass of something delicious and the spectacular North Devon coastline — what more could you wish for?

The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed as guests congratulated the newlyweds, shared stories and enjoyed those precious first moments of the celebrations.

Capturing the Magic – Wedding Photography with a Spectacular Ocean Backdrop

Ryan and Alexia certainly knew how to choose a fabulous creative team!

They selected the talented Hollie of Hollie Nicole Photography to capture their wedding photographs, alongside Chris Catullo of North Summit Films, who documented the beautiful moments on film.  Both Hollie  and Chris are very familiar with Ocean Kave and always excel in putting couples at ease and getting those incredible angles and emotion.

Following the ceremony, there was plenty of laughter and excitement as family and friends gathered for those all-important group photographs.

Then came one of our favourite parts of an Ocean Kave wedding!

Our team whisked the newlyweds away into the more secluded areas of our private coastal estate for a romantic photoshoot.

With 60 acres of breathtaking coastal grounds, dramatic clifftop scenery and panoramic views across the Atlantic Ocean, there is no shortage of spectacular locations for wedding photography.

Away from the excitement of their guests, Ryan and Alexia enjoyed some precious moments together as newlyweds, with the magnificent North Devon coastline providing the most extraordinary backdrop.

From romantic portraits overlooking the ocean to beautiful natural moments captured amongst the coastal landscape, their wedding photographs were truly stunning.

And the best part? All these incredible photography opportunities are right here within the private grounds of Ocean Kave.

From Clifftop Romance to a Fabulous Beachside Wedding Reception

After their wonderful ceremony and photographs at Ocean Kave, the celebrations were far from over!

Ryan and Alexia had chosen to continue their wedding day at The Guillemot Restaurant in Westward Ho!, just a short drive from Ocean Kave.

Overlooking the beautiful sandy beach and Atlantic Ocean, The Guillemot provided a fabulous setting for the next chapter of their wedding celebrations.

The restaurant's team created a delicious bespoke wedding banquet featuring some of Ryan and Alexia's favourite dishes, giving the couple the opportunity to celebrate with their wider circle of family and friends.

It was the perfect combination: an intimate, romantic ceremony at Ocean Kave followed by a wonderful larger celebration in a beautiful beachside setting.

As the evening unfolded, guests enjoyed fantastic food, wonderful company and plenty of laughter.

And what better way to finish a magical summer wedding than with a breathtaking photoshoot on Westward Ho! beach?

With the Atlantic Ocean as their backdrop, Ryan and Alexia captured another collection of unforgettable photographs — the perfect finale to their beautiful coastal wedding.
