Abbie & Felix

Cliff Top Elopment

Whilst some couples and their families relish in spending months,or often years, planning their big day, some couple prefer something a little simpler and just on their terms.  We loved working with Abbie and Felix and their February cliff top elopement wedding was a fantastic way to start 2023 at Ocean Kave.

The beauty of our Oyster Elopement package is that we were able to adjust the order of the day so that this lovely couple could make their wedding day as unique as them. Abbie and Felix chose a mid-week elopement wedding and as they were travelling with their young daughter, they chose one of the single-story cottages at Westward Living. The Seahorse cottage had recently been refurbished and the newlyweds were the first guests to enjoy it in 2023.

They arrived at the Seahorse Cottage on the Wednesday evening and were met by their wedding planner Kathy the day before the wedding and, together, they talked about their hopes and dreams for their day before spending their final night together before becoming Mr & Mrs.

Thursday arrived with azure skies and a mix of moody hues.  Felix made his way down to the venue with the couple’s daughter whilst Abbie finished getting ready; a stunning lace dress complete with a rustic hand-tied fauna bouquet were simply perfect for their glorious countryside surroundings. With the wood burner lit and candles twinkling, the aisle in the Kave was also lined with ivory flora, creating a stunning backdrop for the couple’s nuptials.

Following the ceremony, the happy couple enjoyed champagne and canapes overlooking the sea. The ceremony was so beautiful and personal for the couple filled  with tears of laughter. This relaxed atmosphere formed a wonderful beginning to Abbie and Felix’s life together as husband and wife.

After the ceremony the couple’s photographer Hollie from Hollie Nicole Photography took the couple for a sensational photoshoot down by the beach at Northam Burrows. Hollie has a dramatic and unique style; this wonderful shoot shows how versatile the venue is for an incredible wedding album regardless of the weather or season. It was Hollie’s first wedding at Ocean Kave and we are delighted that she has now joined us as one of our preferred wedding photographers for our Oyster Elopement Wedding experience.

After a sensational photoshoot it was back to the cottage before Jon our Chef arrived at 7pm for the couple’s wedding dining. The couple enjoyed a delicious three course dining experience in the privacy of their cottage.

Although the most important decision when planning a wedding is,of course, where to get married, the other smaller components of the day help to make it truly memorable. At Ocean Kave,we are happy to advise couples on local suppliers with whom we have worked in the past and are always keen to welcome new suppliers to.  We were over the moon to receive this fantastic feedback the next day

“the  food was beyond words,we are such foodies and it really was absolutely incredible thank you so much!
Thank you for such a special wedding,it exceeded our expectations, and we honestly can’t thank you enough,it was a dream and you made it so easy! X”

At Ocean Kave we never tire of helping our guests to enjoy their special day and we strive to make sure that, where possible, every need is catered for. Abbie and Felix’s day was filled with a natural beauty that was reflected in the simplicity and elegance of their day. We wish them every joy for their future together and hope to see them next year for anniversary celebrations!
