Barn Weddings

Ocean Kave is an outstanding and slightly quirky wedding venue with both coastal and countryside views.  We know that couples who choose to celebrate their wedding with us are looking for a more relaxing wedding experience and do not necessarily want a formal a hotel wedding venue vibe.  A rustic barn wedding ticks all the boxes for couples in search of a rustic and laid-back place to celebrate their wedding day.

Ocean Kave is a unique wedding venue in Devon, nestled within 60 acres of private coastal grounds. Our purpose-built  Rustic Barn offers a cool and laidback space to host your wedding reception. After a magical wedding ceremony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the presence of up to 28  friends and family members, the Ocean Kave Small and Intimate wedding package includes a delicious three course BBQ or sit-down meal in the Rustic Barn before dancing the night away in our fabulous wedding venue.  The barn is not too big that your wedding guests will feel lost, it’s a welcoming and accessible space equipped with a bar packed full of authentic local brews and a dancefloor and twinkle fairy light wall.  

Our Rustic Barn is authentic, exclusive, and private. It is located within the grounds of  a private family home and a small collection of self-catering cottages which are very popular amongst wedding guests.

If weddings were food, we would be the ultimate “surf and turf” venue, we have an unparalleled coastal location with incredible views across the Atlantic Ocean sweeping out to Lundy Island and beyond. 

We are often asked about wedding entertainers; the barn is a great space for celebrating the start of our life as newly-weds. We do not accommodate bands or DJ’s but couples are welcome to bring an acoustic performer and playlist which can be played through our sound system. We have a great list of recommended performers and other suppliers at the venue. 

We have also teamed up with three talented  Devon wedding photographers who offer exclusive  packages for couples enjoying our Small & Intimate Micro wedding package, Gareth Williams or GRW Photography, Jon  Malyn from Indigo Perspective and Marc Collins from MK Collins photography.

Couples regularly ask us are dogs welcome in the Rustic Barn, both  two and four-legged guests love the barn, with its dog-friendly layout and human-friendly array of artisan gins and local ales. 

We know that you may have dreamt of a big wedding in North Devon, but if the cost-of-living crisis means that  it is a choice between saying “I do” this year or waiting another year or even two, then it may just pay to compromise with a small intimate wedding  reception at Ocean Kave.  What’s more, with the competitively priced small, intimate wedding packages on offer, you will be able to save money for your future together. 

At just £5495 for you and up to 13 guests on a week day– as well as your four-legged friends-, you can enjoy two nights in a bridal cottage, a luxury, locally sourced breakfast hamper for two and use of Ocean Kave for your ceremony, followed by canapes and welcome drinks on the lawn and a three course BBQ or sit down menu with a toast drink in the Rustic Barn for your wedding reception.  And, of course, the package comes complete with signature styling and your own professional wedding coordinator.
