Real Weddings - Wonderful cliff top winter wedding

A truly bespoke candle lit dream

November 2016

Adorned with crisp Autumn leaves and beautiful homemade candles, Ocean Kave and the Sunset Rooms brought nature indoors for Eme and Terel's wedding.

The dramatic scenery of the sweeping coast and rolling hills made Ocean Kave the perfect location for this romantic, down-to-earth ceremony. We love helping couples achieve their dream wedding and this beautiful pair wanted to embrace the colours and cosiness of autumn and winter.

To make the most of the cliff top venue in November, the couple chose a 5:30pm ceremony time, flickering flames from a mulitude of candles reflected from the walls in Ocean Kave, creating a romantic ambience for the ceremony. Around the table and chairs, gold, purple and red Autumn leaves were scattered. Eme wore an elegant, floor-length lace dress and her hair beautifully styled with a beaded headband. Her Uncle Gary walked her down the twilight path and candlelit aisle. When Eme's son read a personal poem, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Music from the acoustic guitar echoed gently through Ocean Kave and there was a wonderful feeling of celebration among family and friends.

After the heart-warming ceremony, it was on to the party. The coulpes friends and family were treated to bespoke cocktails and canapés. To celebrate Terel's Jamaican heritage, the cocktails were designed using Jamaican rum and the canapés included beef pasties.   Guests stepped into another world in the Sunset Rooms. Tealights in glass baubles flowed down from the ceiling and each table, named after a different tree, was decorated with Autumn leaves, pinecones and candles. Guests gathered to tuck into a delicious Jerk hog roast with roast potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, continuing the Jamaican influence. The three-tier wedding cake was made of mouth-watering red velvet, sponge and chocolate flavours.

Partway into the evening, the groom serenaded Eme, a wonderful surprise for her and a truly romantic moment. With a great DJ and a beautiful setting, guests danced the night away to celebrate. This was a real wedding celebration with singing, excellent food, dancing and laughter, rounding off a spectacular day. Guests each left with a pretty homemade candle.

Every wedding is special to us here at Ocean Kave, but something about Eme and Terel's creative approach to an autumn/winter wedding really inspired us. Having a skilled  and experienced photographer is essential if your wedding is based around candle light, fortunatley the couple chose the talented Marc Collins of MK Collins Photography as their official photographer, Marc has years of experience working with couples at Ocean Kave weddings and been able to capture memories that will last a life time.  It was an absolute pleasure to help with their big day and we wish them a long and happy marriage.
