Paul and Sarah’s vow renewal took place in May 2015 to mark the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary. For the couple and their family, the day was an opportunity to celebrate 25 years of strength, love and partnership with significant people from their past, present and future. Guests ranged from immediate family to relatively new friends and even their son’s football coach!
When we first met, Paul and Sarah wanted a very low key day. As their plans evolved and under the guidance of the Ocean Kave’s experienced wedding coordinators (and the couple’s children!), the day turned into a stunning reflection of a very special family. For guests, the day was an emotional one as they witnessed the close family unit draw ever closer; the children were integral to the day’s proceedings, from reading in church to performing the duties of master of ceremonies at the reception and even writing their own vows.
Guests arrived at the Ocean Kave an hour before the ceremony and took the opportunity to greet friends and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Sarah looked simply beautiful in a lace wedding dress and both she and bridesmaid, daughter Bella, wore matching coral satin shoes. The cream dresses, coral satin and complementing flowers gave an impression of simple, classic elegance.
After greeting “the boys”, Paul and their son Henry resplendent in morning suits and coral cravats, a beautiful ceremony ensued which included traditional hymns and readings, a song from Bella and Henry and the family’s vow exchange. It can be safely said that there was not a dry eye in the Kave!
The ceremony was followed by refreshments on the lawn and group photos taken by the talented photographer Emily Hyam, after which the group retired to the Sunset Rooms where the couple had chosen a classic three course meal. The rooms were decorated beautifully with handmade favours and place cards, each containing a personal message from the family. The attention to detail and personal nature of every element made the day all the more special.
The primary focus of the day was family togetherness; the Ocean Kave is perfectly placed to provide entertainment for all the family and the couple had outdoor games, striking deckchairs and an irresistible sweet table to keep guests of all ages engaged!
After entertainment by the incredibly talented up and coming singer Yazzie, the group danced into the night, with guests enjoying hot dogs and a delectable cheeseboard in the evening. Emily Hyam captured amazing pictures of the family at sunset as well as natural family photos of Sarah, Paul and their guests.
Paul and Sarah had a truly magical day and it was a delight to see such a warm, friendly and loving family event at the Ocean Kave. We wish the whole family a future filled with happiness and laughter.
