Blog - Marvellous March cliff top wedding

The sky was a beautiful clear blue, the sun was shining and the sunset was so magical.

April 2017

When you have your heart set on a blue sky, Pimms on the lawn vision of a wedding, December is not always the best time of year for a viewing.  When Hannah and Stevie came to view Ocean Kave it was a winters day just before Christmas in 2015.

Had the couple of been considering our sparkle season candle lit wedding, the weather and ambience on their viewing day would have been ideal, however the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the rugged coastal feel were not ideal.  However, the second they saw the venue, that was it!  They knew it would be the perfect setting for their special day.

Hannah was certain beyond any question of doubt that the weather would be crystal blue skies and gleaming sunshine for her and Stevie’s romantic celebration – she must have had a crystal ball as the couple chose the most fantastic day of the year to date hold their wedding.

The sky was a beautiful clear blue, the sun was shining and the sunset was so magical.

Keen not to break with the tradition where the couple don’t see each other until the ceremony, Hannah got ready in The Gallops Cottage and Stevie prepared for the nuptials in Silca Blanka Cottage. The cottages were buzzing with excitement as the guests prepared for the big event.  Both brides were breath taking in their lace adorned dresses, they carried gorgeous hand tied posies created for them by The Secret Garden Florist.

The couple were driven separately in Ocean Kave’s Land Rovers, to their very personal marriage ceremony, there was not a dry eye in the house, and the sun was beaming as they exited the Kave as a married couple.

Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed welcome reception drinks on the lawn before returning to the Sunset Rooms for a delicious three course wedding breakfast..

The couple put their stamp on the venue with their beautiful creative styling, the table decorations included cute little springs of lavender which emanated a beautiful floral smell throughout the day and evening. The vibe was relaxed yet fun and the entourage partied the night away to the tunes of their band.

Local well known photographer Matt Fryer was appointed to capture the day, Matt is highly acclaimed for his coastal wedding photography, he took Stevie and Hannah to the beach at Westward Ho! where they managed to get some fabulous shots, however nothing could have prepared the couple of the sensational sunset photos that Matt was able to capture back at Ocean Kave  that evening.

Stevie and Hannah’s day was filled with love, laughter and blue skies, we had so much fun working with them and wish them both every happiness for their future together.
