T'is the season to be married

Here at Ocean Kave, we have hosted some spectacular ceremonies in our award winning unique and slightly quirky wedding venue.  We find couples are inspired by the unique location of our venue all year round. With panoramic views over the Atlantic and a romantic cliff top setting, The Kave is perfect for winter celebrations. Even in stormy weather, the ocean looks majestic from the comfort of our exclusive reception venue, the Sunset Rooms.

We were delighted to welcome Victoria and Jess to Ocean Kave and work with the couple to plan a perfectly bespoke Christmas inspired wedding.

The couple chose to have a very personal and romantic wedding ceremony a few days before Christmas in December.

A candlelit aisle, roaring wood burning stove and the dramatic scenery of North Devon's rugged coast made Ocean Kave the perfect setting for Victoria and Jess to take their wedding vows.   Accompanied by their adorable 4-legged friend “Chester “and two witnesses, their personal and beautiful ceremony was the perfect start to the days celebrations.

The couple chose First Light Wedding Photography to capture their special day. First Light are a fantastic Devon based photography duo who know the venue well. They have captured weddings at Ocean Kave since we opened and have often had their work published in professional wedding magazines.  As well as being incredibly professional and expert at their craft, First Light are very personable and help the couple to relax on the day, they often have amazing feedback from couples who have worked with them.

After the ceremony, the couple greeted their guests in the Sunset Rooms whilst the Ocean Kave team worked their Christmas magic and transformed the Kave into a merry magical setting for the wedding feast.  All enjoyed Canapés and seasonal welcome drinks; the guests were treated to a fabulous collection of photos which were played on the Ocean Kave 7ft projector screen.  The couple chose a wonderful wintertime theme; the décor had subtle nods to the season whilst being both elegant and personal.

After a jolly delicious three course wedding feast it was time for relaxing in the Kave and enjoying the setting before the couple retired to their 5 star bridal cottage to a serenade of sparklers.

We absolutely loved working with Jess and Victoria (and Chester) and we wish them all the best for a very long and happy marriage.

In recent years, winter weddings have become increasingly popular. Whether it's the idea of exchanging vows by candlelight or the endless opportunities for unique winter decor, a growing number of couples are opting for winter celebrations.
