Michelle and Marc's Midsummer Night's Dream wedding

Michelle and Marc's Midsummer Night's Dream wedding

Surreal, magnificent and breathtakingly romantic, Michelle and Marc's wedding was truly memorable. The theme? A Midsummer Night's Dream.

We feel totally blessed to be a part of every wedding we host here at Ocean Kave. But there was something special about Michelle and Marc. Their creative vision for the ceremony, combined with their exceptional attention to detail, was remarkable. The wedding took place in June, with the dramatic backdrop of the Atlantic providing the ideal setting for the couple's dream wedding.

We all knew about Michelle's dress before the big day, but when she stepped out walk down the aisle, fashionably late, we were all stunned. With a detailed bohemian headpiece and utterly beautiful beaded back detail, this was a dress you only see once in a blue moon. Michelle's bouquet was filled with berries and flowers, just like something Titania herself would have had. As Michelle walked into the Kave, Marc's expression was that of pure admiration and wonderment.

A candelabra draped with ivy, Moroccan lanterns and a myriad of moss and rustic log slabs adorned Ocean Kave for this unique celebration. Michelle and Marc's vision for their big day was perfectly suited to our coastal venue. The Kave looked like something straight out of a fairytale.

After their wildly romantic ceremony, it was time for the revelry to commence. The Sunset Rooms were decked out to fit the Midsummer Night's Dream theme. Personalised gobos reflected a woodland scene onto the wall in the Sunset Rooms to give it an ethereal feel. Michelle and Marc's theme could be spotted in almost every last detail. Each table took its name from Shakespeare's magical story.

Reflecting the beautiful couple's relaxed nature and wild theme, guests were treated to delicious canapés and a barbecue. Their cake, a three-tier Oreo cheesecake, went down extremely well. Later in the evening, a second serving of exceptional cake, this time a tower of macaroons by the famous Cake Cetera, and a selection of traditional Devonshire pasties. To round-off a spectacularly unique wedding, guests danced the night away and tried their luck at gambling at the casino courtesy of Casino Direct.

The couple's entourage included four beautiful bridesmaids and two page boys. A professional DJ and good friend of the couple kept the party alive until the early hours. The gorgeous make-up was provided by Changing Faces and the unique yet perfectly themed flowers were by Blooms of Bideford. Photographer Lucy Turnbull captured this magical day beautifully.

Every now and then, a couple like Michelle and Marc get in touch with us and share their remarkably imaginative and ambitious ideas. From the moment we hear from them, we can't wait to start planning their special day. It was wonderful to see this lovely couple enjoying their wedding at Ocean Kave and we wish them a lifetime of happiness.
