Perfect Love Match

Saturday 15thJuly 2018 was one of the most important dates in the year, not because it was the world cup final date but more importantly because Kirstie and Emlyn chose this date for their sensational wedding day at Ocean Kave.

When the couple booked their wedding day back in September 2017 nobody had any  idea that Southgate’s boys were going to do so well in the  2018 World Cup.

As the summer progressed, it looked more and more likely that the  England  squad were going to reach  the final of the 2018 World Cup, this  meant that and Kirstie and Emlyn could potentially be sharing their  day with one of the biggest footballing events since 1966! – It’s not usually something that the Ocean Kave wedding planning events team need to cover during our wedding planning meetings.

Here at Ocean Kave we always have back up plans to every situation, we had made provisions for a giant screen to be hooked up for the final if required! The bride was so calm and collected and handled the situation perfectly -we even managed to have a little joke about it and see the funny side!

On the day the bride prepared for her grand entrance to the venue in her wonderful 5 star bridal suite Kala’s cottage.  Kirstie looked simply beautiful in vintage lace dress with a stunning scoop back design. Her bridesmaids wore adorable blue dresses and carried beautiful handtied posies.  As the bride was escorted up the aisle  by her proud father, there was not a dry eye in sight.  Kirstie was the epitome of grace and elegance as she walked towards her dashing groom who was anxiously waiting for her at the altar.

The ceremony was followed by a simply perfect reception of canapes and Prosecco on the lawn.  The clear blue skies and summer sunshine were the ideal backdrop for Kirstie and Emlyn’s nuptials.  Much to everyone’s relief the wedding cake was not adorned with three lions, instead the couple commissioned a fabulous 2 tier cake with a nautical theme and gorgeous little seahorses sitting on the top.  The couple arranged a sumptuous three course BBQ for their guests to enjoy, coupled with plenty of love, laughter and bubbles! The couple enjoyed every second of their day and partied into the night, stopping only to have some sunset photographs taken by local well respected wedding photographer Matt Fryer.  Matt is well known in Devon and has a reputation for capturing incredible sunsets and coastal imagery. Their day radiated happiness and love and we wish them a future filled with laughter.
