Friday 8thJune was a great night for local wedding venue Ocean Kave and much loved charity Honeys Bravery Bags. Ocean Kave shared its 5thbirthday with World Ocean Day and an extravagant gala ball was hosted that evening for Honeys Bravery Bags. The ball raised in excess of £7k for this much loved local charity.
Kathy Murdoch Managing Director of Ocean Kave said, “We are so delighted to been able to share our birthday with such a well loved local charity, in the last 5 years we have hosted 320 weddings, won 4 significant industry awards and welcomed over 19,000 guests to our Westward Ho! wedding venue. We are really proud to have created Ocean Kave and also we love the fact that we are having such a positive impact on the local supply chain and that we welcome guests from all over the world to Ocean Kave, my husband Chris and I are very passionate about supporting local charities and when were approached by Grace Brown from Honeys Bravery Bags it was a no brainer for Ocean Kave to support them on their first summer gala ball.”
Co Director of Honey's Bravery Bags Grace Brown gave thanks to the huge generosity of the many businesses, celebrities and sportsmen who supported the auction with items including Manchester United Football Club, British Lions Rugby Club, Tommy Langford, Exeter Chiefs, James and Nicole Wickett, Fremington Quay Cafe, Peter Heanton Jones MP, Boden Fire and Security, Andrew Cotton and many many more. The equisite event hosted a multitude of entertainment including Dynamix Rock and Pop Choir and The Sound band. North Devon Party Celebrations sponsored the event along with Kathy Murdoch of Ocean Kave who aside from hosting the event also sponsored some of the costs involved too. On the night the winner of the Honeys Bravery Bags and Davies & Partner Award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Children's Healthcare in North Devon' officially collected her prize. Gill Howard, senior HCA on the Caroline Thorpe was selected from the many nominees (made by those in the community) as over all winner. Due to the success of the ball in 2018, next year's has already been booked for June 7th 2019. A pre booking waiting list has already been opened due to demand.
