Wednesday 8th September was a very special day at Ocean Kave as Lauren and Steve chose to celebrate their wedding vows in a very personalised and romantic celebration. Although we offer Elopement and Micro Wedding packages at Ocean Kave, we are always open to tailoring our offering to let the couples have a bespoke experience, this was certainly the case with Lauren and Steve.
Lauren and Steve fell in love with Ocean Kave from the moment they viewed it online. The couple reside over 250 miles away from our little Devon Coastal Wedding Venue, so it was important that they could entrust us with the planning which would enable them to just turn up and enjoy the celebration. COVID-19 restrictions made it difficult for the couple to come and view before booking, so they took a leap of faith and entrusted us to create their wedding.
When asked why they decided upon Ocean Kave as their venue, the couple said “We knew we didn't want to get married in Nottingham where we are from so we narrowed down the location and we came across Ocean Kave and we both just love everything about it, the location the intimacy, the Kave itself is so unqiue and the view is just amazing, we just knew this was the place we wanted to get married and it was just perfect for us and our small family. Despite Covid, planning an elopement was stress free and easy and that's thanks to the amazing team at Ocean Kave.”
Lauren was absolutely stunning in her floor length gown which was delicately embellished with lace detail on the shoulders and back. Steve was equally as dapper in his suit and brown shoes.
The day was packed with love and laughter, the couples son stole the Hearts of all present by sweeping the floor with Mum’s bouquet in the middle of the ceremony. After a romantic cliff top ceremony in the presence of loved ones (including four legged ones) the couple said their vows in front of the Atlantic Ocean.
Lauren and Steve engaged the super talented Gareth Williams from GRW Photography to capture the day. As always, his photos captured each precious moment to perfection including a sensational beach shoot and balmy summer sunset back up at the Ocean Kave. Lauren said “Our photos are just beautiful aren't they, we couldn't be happier with the images Gareth captured, he’s an amazing photographer and put everyone at ease like one of the family and it felt like we had known him for years.”
Whilst guests enjoyed a welcome drinks on the lawn the couple enjoyed a fabulous beach photoshoot with GRW Photography, they then returned to the venue for a sumptuous fish and chips supper in the rustic barn.
After the supper it was time for more sensational sunset photos. A happy memory for the couple was taking an evening stroll back towards the Kave with family members swinging Oscar in the air over the puddle’s, everyone in trainers and Lauren's dress wet through from the puddle's.
We loved how Lauren and Steve totally owned their wedding, a wedding should be unique and personal which reflects each couple. Lauren and Steve’s advice for couples looking to Elope at Ocean Kave is to
"Enjoy the process and try not to get too stressed because Kathy has it all in hand and if you forget something, that's ok because as long as you’re marrying the love of your life, does it matter if you forget something. Make sure you take a moment away from everything to take some time for you and your new husband/Wife. Sitting back and watching everyone you love and care about together is so special"
